On Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 at approximately 4:30 PM the Dunn County E-911 Center received a report of a threat that was made to the Elk Mound Middle School. Dunn County Deputies responded to the Middle School for further follow up on the matter.


Through a subsequent investigation it was learned that there was a verbal and physical altercation on a bus returning to the Elk Mound Middle School from a field trip. This altercation carried over into the school when they returned. A 13-year-old student involved made a threat regarding the possibility of a shooting that could occur at the school on Friday.


Update:


The juvenile suspect in this case is being charged with making terroristic threats, battery and disorderly conduct. He will make a court appearance today on these charges.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office takes a zero tolerance stance on threats of school violence and will continue to have extra patrol units in and around the school to reassure students and parents that they are in a safe environment.

On Monday, February 12th, 2018 at approximately 12:42 PM the Dunn County E-911 Center received a report of a two vehicle head-on crash on STH 79 in Sherman township about three miles south of Boyceville. The callers reported injuries and road blockage. Dunn County Deputies along with Boyceville Police, Boyceville Fire, Boyceville Ambulance and Menomonie Fire/EMS responded to the scene.


Upon arrival, responders discovered that the Jena D. Anderson, driver of a south bound Chevy SUV, was deceased. She was pronounced dead on scene by the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office. Kallie J. Anderson, Jena’s daughter and passenger, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mayo, Menomonie.


Todd R. Dormanen, the lone 47-year-old male driver of a north bound Kia SUV, was also injured and transported to Mayo, Eau Claire.


As a result of an investigation completed by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol, Dunn County District Attorney Andrea Amidon Nodolf has charged Todd Dormanen with the following:


- Homicide by Intoxicated use of Motor Vehicle while having prior Intoxicant-Related

Conviction/Revocation.

- Operating While Intoxicated Causing Injury- 2nd and Subsequent Offense.

- Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated- 4th Offense.

- Homicide by Negligent Operation of a Vehicle.

- Reckless Driving Causing Great Bodily Harm.


Dormanen, who is in custody of the Dunn County Jail, will have a bond hearing at 1:15 p.m. on today’s date.

On Saturday, January 06, 2018 at approximately 2:22 AM the Dunn County E-911 Center received a report of lone west bound vehicle that had left the roadway on STH 29 near the intersection of 906th St in the Town of Elk Mound. Dunn County Sheriff’s Deputies, Elk Mound Fire, Colfax Rescue, and Dunn County First Responders were dispatched to the scene.


Upon arrival at the scene deputies found the vehicle was traveling w/b on STH 29 and failed to negotiate the curve in the road. The vehicle went down a steep embankment and rolled several times. The male driver (31 YOA of rural Colfax) was the lone occupant of the vehicle was ejected from the vehicle. Evidence at the scene indicates the driver was not seat belted.


The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office.


Speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors in the crash based on the initial investigation.


The crash remains under investigation by deputies from the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office.


The deceased driver was identified as Michael T Koenig, 31YOA, of rural Colfax.
