On December 23, 2016 at 5:16 p.m. the Dunn County E-911 Center received a report of a two car motor vehicle crash on USH 12 near 429th Street in the Town of Menomonie. The caller also reported road blockage and personal injury.


When Deputies arrived on the scene they found three vehicles were involved in the crash. A 2013 Kia Soul operated by a 56 year old male from Colfax was traveling east on USH 12 when it collided with a westbound 2004 Chevy Venture Van operated by a 70 year old male from Knapp. The operator from the van was ejected and then the vehicles were struck by an east bound 2011 Chevrolet Colorado operated by a 43 year old female from Wilson. The truck came to rest on top of the male that was ejected. He was extricated and taken to Mayo Eau Claire. His condition is unknown at this time.


The driver and passenger of the Kia Soul were transported by ambulance to Mayo- Menomonie. The driver of the Chevrolet Colorado was transported by private vehicle to Mayo-Menomonie.

On December 24, 2016 the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the driver of the Chevy Venture Van, Ronnie Imboden, died from injuries sustained as a result of the crash.


The driver of the Kia Soul was identified as Joseph Broker of Colfax and his passenger was Lori Broker also of Colfax. Their medical conditions are unknown to the sheriff’s office.


The driver of the Colorado truck was Jennifer Thatcher of Wilson.


Road conditions, due to adverse weather, were a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

On Friday, December 9, 2016 at approximately 5:36 A.M. the Dunn County E-911 Communications Center received a call reporting a pedestrian being struck by a small vehicle. The vehicle was south bound on Main Street / STH 40 at 5th Ave and ended up leaving the scene, continuing southbound. Dunn County Sheriff’s Deputies and Colfax Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.


When deputies arrived at the scene, Colfax Ambulance had already arrived and was caring for the injured person. The injured person was identified as the pedestrian who had been struck and was being prepared to be transported to the hospital. That person was identified as Linda Salazar, 67 years old of Colfax, WI. She had been struck while walking west bound on 5th Ave. and was crossing Main Street / STH 40. Her injuries were believed to be very serious at that time. She was transported to Mayo Eau Claire Hospital by Colfax Ambulance.


Approximately 20 minutes after the crash occurred, a vehicle arrived at the scene and the operator admitted that she was the one that struck “something” at that intersection and later admitted that she knew it was a person walking along or across Main Street. That operator was identified as Jami Golden, 37 years old, of Colfax, WI. Golden was cited for:

  • Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance

  • Hit and Run – Involving Great Bodily Harm

  • Failure of Occupant to Notify Police of Accident

  • Obstructed Drivers Vision – Front View


Golden is in custody at the Dunn County Jail on a Probation Hold at this time.

On Friday, December 2, 2016 at approximately 10:21 PM the Dunn County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a male that had been shot with a firearm at a residence located at E1745 361st Avenue in the Township of Weston in southwestern Dunn County. Upon arrival, deputies and emergency medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures on an adult male victim but were unsuccessful. The subject was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office.


Deputies learned that this incident happened during a domestic disturbance between the victim and family members. They also learned that this in disturbance had been going on for a couple of hours and that there was a physical confrontation and that alcohol was involved.


The shooting suspect, Jerad A. Jones, age 30, was taken into custody by deputies at the scene without further incident. He is being held in the Dunn County Jail for unrelated charges at this time. The victim’s name is: Justin Ogden, age 32. Both the victim and the suspect reside at the residence where this incident occurred.


This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community at this time. Assisting at the scene was Elmwood EMS, Dunn County First Responders, and the Wisconsin State Patrol Recon Team.


No further details will be released at this time as the case is actively being investigated by Investigators of the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office.
