The Sheriff's Office responds to reports of animal abuse, animal neglect, missing and recovered domestic animals, injured animals, livestock at large/on roadways, public assistance calls relating to animals, and more.

Dogs at Large

The Sheriff's Office contracts with specific townships and municipalities to pickup and transport stray dogs that are in custody.  If your local municipality does not contract with the Sheriff's Office,  you must contact your local town or village police department or town hall for assistance with the animal.

-  Please note, the Sheriff's Office will not respond unless the dog is captured, with the exception of a possible dangerous or violent animal or if it is causing a traffic hazard.

-  The Sheriff's Office does not respond to stray cat calls and will not transport cats.  Contact your local municipality or the Dunn County Humane Society for assistance or further guidance.
