On May 18, 2024, at approximately 7:35 PM, the Dunn County Communication Center received a 911 transfer call from the Barron County Sheriff’ Office, reporting a motorcycle crash with injuries. The crash occurred on 145th Street, just north of County Road K in the Township of New Haven, Dunn County, Wisconsin.
The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, Boyceville Ambulance, the Menomonie Fire Department, and Dunn County First Responders responded to the scene. Upon arrival, First Responders located a crashed motorcycle and a male who was unresponsive in the ditch. The male who was unresponsive was the only occupant of the motorcycle. Life saving measures were performed but were unsuccessful.
The Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and pronounced the driver of the motorcycle deceased.
Preliminary investigation showed the motorcycle was traveling northbound on 145th Street, when the motorcycle traveled left of center, entered the west ditch line and struck a field driveway, which caused the motorcycle to leave the ground for a short distance. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office.
